Don’t Be Afraid
Don’t Be Afraid, God Is with You
Fear is one of the oldest enemies of the human soul. It whispers in the dark, shouts in the storm, and lingers in the silence. But from the beginning of Scripture to its final pages, God speaks one command more than any other:
“Do not be afraid.”
This is not a soft comfort; it is a divine declaration. It is the voice of the Creator breaking through the noise of anxiety, the weight of uncertainty, and the shadow of danger.
1. Fear Comes, But God Stands
Fear came to Abraham when he faced the unknown.
Fear came to Moses when he stood before Pharaoh.
Fear came to Joshua when he stepped into leadership.
Fear came to Mary when heaven interrupted her plans.
Fear came to the disciples when the storm rose. But in every moment, God responded with the same truth:
“Fear not, for I am with you.” Isaiah 41:10
“Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Matthew 14:27
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” Psalm 27:1God doesn’t promise the absence of storms.
He promises His presence in the middle of them.2. Fear Cannot Survive in the Light of God
Fear thrives in darkness.
But God is light.Fear thrives in isolation.
But God is nearby.Fear thrives in lies.
But God speaks truth. When you know who walks with you, fear loses its grip.
When you know who holds your future, fear loses its voice.
When you know who fights for you, fear loses its power.3. Jesus Walks into the Storm
The disciples were terrified. The waves were high. The boat was shaking.
But Jesus walked on the water, straight into their fear.He didn’t calm the storm first.
He calmed their hearts.“Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.” Matthew 14:27
Jesus doesn’t wait for the storm to end before He shows up.
He walks into it.
He speaks peace in it.
He reveals Himself through it.4. God’s Promise Is Greater Than Your Fear
You may fear tomorrow.
But God is already there. You may fear failure.
But God is your strength. You may fear rejection.
But God calls you chosen. You may fear death.
But God gives eternal life. His promise is not just comfort, it is covenant.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
“I am with you always.” Matthew 28:20🙏 Closing Prayer
Lord, I choose faith over fear. I choose Your presence over panic. I choose Your Word over worry. Walk with me into every unknown. Speak peace into every storm. Remind me that I am never alone. I will not be afraid, because You are with me. Amen.
